Another Reason to Follow Your Bliss
I was invited to attend a discussion regarding the link between Opera and our relationships with others. The discussion was at the Neuroscience Institute, which I love our nervous systems:)
They discussed a famous Opera called Turandot, which was about a women who was cold to all the men who courted her. It is about how we all tend to have boundaries when we are fearful of getting to close to others. The story relates how humans have killed their “inner life” by running in the rat race and not listening to our instincts.
My favorite nugget from the evening was “when you follow your bliss, this is the most generous thing you can do for mankind”. We usually find that this could be called selfish, when in reality that is the joy of the world.
