Almond Butter vs. Peanut Butter

Many people are experiencing peanut allergies. The peanut is actually a legume and an allergic reaction leads to anaphylaxis, which can cause the throat to close. Some people with peanut allergies also may have nut allergies. The cause is not completely the source, however is also contributed to a compromised immune and digestive system.

The tree nut includes cashews, almonds, pecans and walnuts among others.  An almond is actually in the plum family along with apricot, cherry, nectarine, peach, plum and the prune plum, yet it is considered a tree nut by most allergists.

Before you go and purchase Jiffy, some other things to consider are:  Almond butter has more fiber, Vitamin E, and less saturated fat than peanut butter. Also, only purchase all natural, as some of the others will contain high fructose corn syrup, and hydrogenated oils which only lead to a stressful body.  I see many people who consume peanuts, gain weight more readily and are more constipated, definitely two reasons to change to almond butter.
