If you wake up everyday feeling more tired than when you went to bed it is what you are eating or not eating.  Most people are experiencing a life of low energy and disease.  Dis-Ease is when the body is imbalanced and symptoms begin appearing, such as poor sleep, constipation, and headaches to name a few.

The food we eat or the vegetables we are not eating are causing the body stress.  Certain foods do not provide ample nutrition and can add stress to the body by not being thoroughly digested.  Undigested food can lead to abdominal bloating, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and some forms of cancer if left untreated.

Try replacing some of these foods with the suggested alternatives and when you do eat them try not having them the next meal or the next day.  Add more higher quality foods, which can be found in the Conscious Nutrition Guide Book.

1. High Fructose Corn Syrup  & Sugar Substitutes

There is significant controversy over these items, which leads to more nutrition confusion.  Always go by how you feel, and if you are eating these foods and do not feel well.  These products have shown the following;

Sugar Substitutes

  • Contain neurotoxins associated with seizures, MS, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson.
  • Known to promote the following conditions: headaches, vertigo, decreased memory, mood disorders, general aches and pains, arthritis, chronic fatigue, heart palpitations and irregular heartbeat, asthma, bronchitis, COPD, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and weight gain

HFCS

  • Synthetic and toxic to the liver
  • Unregulated form of sugar, altering blood balance, which promotes disease.
  • Increases fat storage and raises triglycerides

Hydrogenated Oils

  • Alter cell membranes, adversely affecting all cell functions.
  • Decrease the effect of insulin on red blood cells, encouraging blood sugar imbalances and promoting disease
  • Alter proper immune function rendering the body more susceptible to disease
  • Disrupt the balance and ratio of healthy fats, robbing the heart and brain of essential fats needed for proper functioning.
  • Alter normal enzyme activities responsible for the break down and metabolism of toxic carcinogens and medications.
  • Interfere with the reproductive systems and alter breast milk making it toxic.
  • Increase the risk of heart diseases by decreasing protective HDL cholesterol and increasing LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, leaving the body at risk of illness and fatigue.

Alternative:  Raw organic sugar & Stevia

2. Hydrogenated & Partially Hydrogenated Oils

Try removing vegetable, canola, and other hydrogenated oils in plastic containers and implement the alternative, notice if your sleep or other health issues improve.

  • Alter cell membranes, adversely affecting all cell functions.
  • Alter proper immune function rendering the body more susceptible to disease
  • Disrupt the balance and ratio of healthy fats, robbing the heart and brain of essential fats needed for proper functioning.
  • Alter normal enzyme activities responsible for the break down and metabolism of toxic carcinogens and medications.
  • Increase the risk of heart diseases by decreasing protective HDL cholesterol and increasing LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, leaving the body at risk of illness and fatigue.

Alternative:  Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut oil, Grapeseed & Flax oil

3. Processed Wheat

Gluten has become the new buzz word at the grocery store and media.  Gluten is >>>>  Processed wheat which means the removal of the good parts of the wheat kernel such as the germ, and then adding in vitamins to replace these.  This was done for preserving the product for shelf life.  Processed wheat such as breads, pastas, crackers and flour are difficult to break down in the intestines, especially if you have a compromised immune system.

Alternative:  Sprouted Grain Products, Rice & Quinoa based products.

4. Pasteurized Low-Fat Dairy

You probably know someone with “lactose intolerance”.  The most common reason for dairy intolerance is caused from the pasteurization process versus the dairy itself.  Most dairy products are for fun and not always for health such as the calcium benefit.  Americans are consuming more milk than ever and osteoporosis is on the rise.  Also, low fat dairy is missing the fat which to absorb fat-soluble vitamins such as Vitamin D, it is needed.

Alternative:  Whole Fat Dairy Products, Raw (cautious to people with poor immune systems such as children and elderly), Goat Dairy Products, Almond, Rice & Coconut Products.  Coconut Ice Cream YUM!

5. Soy Products

There are two types of Soy, fermented and unfermented.  The unfermented soy products such as; miso and tempeh have more nutritious properties.

  • Contains Soy Phyto estrogens that can inhibit normal thyroid production, leading to hypothyroidism, goiters, autoimmune disease and cancer.
  • Soy Phyto estrogens also disrupt endocrine function, cause imbalances in hormone levels, and can potentially cause infertility and promote breast cancer in adult woman.
  • Soy interferes with absorption of necessary minerals and proteins.

Alternative:  Miso, KimChi, Tempeh, edaname, and vegetable based burgers (Sunshine Burger brand)

6. Peanuts

The peanut family is actually a legume which has been shown to cause a mold called aflatoxin which can cause people to have a reaction.  The peanut family has been highly dosed with pesticides and if eaten in large quantities and with other inflammatory symptoms can also cause joint pain.

Alternative:  Almond butter, walnuts, pistachios, pine nuts, and seeds
